Why you Might need to Sleep Train Your Twins

Sleep is crucial for the physical and cognitive development of infants and toddlers. When it comes to twins, the challenges of establishing healthy sleep patterns can be even more demanding. Sleep training offers an effective solution for parents to ensure their twins get the rest they need for optimal growth and well-being. During pregnancy, the babies play when the parent is inactive which is mainly during the night and sleep during the day. After they are born, this pattern is carried forward.

Apart from that, twins wake each other up when they cry making it very difficult for the twin mum to handle both of them, especially during the night. If untrained, twins will keep you up during the day and during the night, and eventually, you will find the whole household is sleep deprived. During the first three months, it was pure hell for me. It was like there was no moment that passed by that i wasn't holding a baby. I felt resentful towards every individual in the house and even them. Sleep deprivation will have you going crazy within a very short period of time. Sleep training the twins will save you from the agony of living every day feeling like you are dragging your feet and even your body.

Furthermore, having the twins on a sleeping schedule will help you plan for your day and include an hour or so for personal time. There are so many resources on sleep training and support groups that are dedicated to that on social media. Make sure to consult with the pediatrician on the best time to start sleep training your twins and no matter how challenging it turns out to be, stick with it. It is totally worth the trouble.
