The Changes That Come With Kids

The changes that come with kids

The one thing that I have realized after getting my twins, no matter how much you read or talk to other moms, you are never actually get prepared enough for the real thing especially if you are a first-time mom. Every time I think I am getting the hang of what I am supposed to do, something new comes up and I am back to the no idea bit. Here are the few changes that I have experienced from when I got pregnant with the twins;

1. Mummy Brain

I'd have laughed at any individual who implied that this was a real thing. Recently, I cooked an egg and kept looking for what was smelling in the house. I eventually got to find what it was. I left the burner on and the pan on it. Sometimes I want to say something and I can't actually remember what it was that i wanted to say,

2. Saggy Boobs

I breastfed the twins up to one year and six months, They looked amazing then and had increased in size. Immediately the milk dried up, they look like deflated balloons. I find as time goes on, they get better but I don't think they will ever get back to normal.

3. Reduced Sleeping time

If you ever had a set of twins or any kids, you realize that your sleep time never gets back to normal. From sleep deprivation to toddlers waking you up at the crack of dawn to actually your brain not allowing you to sleep past a certain number of hours.

4. Priorities

If you think that your life will ever be the same after kids, then you are highly disillusioned. Parenting comes with sacrifices and if you are not ready to make those sacrifices, then you are definitely not ready to become a parent.

5 . Finances

Kids are very expensive to raise. Apart from diapers, there is baby formula, clothes that are outgrown every and then, food that is wasted here and there, and a lot of other things. Here, we say eggs are very expensive but fertilized eggs are even more so.

Conclusion

Having kids should be a decision that is made by both parents because changes are going to affect both of them and unlike the things that you order on Amazon, kids cannot be returned. I have seen stories about mothers or fathers that want to maintain their old ways of life after the kids. It always does not end well. If you love your life so much and want to keep it the same without making any changes, please do not get a kid.
