Prayer of a Twin Mum

 Dear Lord, 

This twin mum is very grateful. In your kindness and love, she wanted a baby and you gave her two. Instead of getting one hug, she gets two. Instead of getting one to kiss, she got two. 

Lord, instead of listening to one magical laugh, she listens to two. This twin mum is awed.

Now Lord, as all things come in twos, the cries too come in two. Instead of one looking for attention, there are two that do not understand that there exists another. Please give this twin mum the grace Lord. To stand the cry of one as she attends to the other. May her breasts overflow with milk so she can feed two and express. Give this twin mum energy so she may tandem feed.

May your grace carry her through the nights she will barely sleep. As you give her grace, may you please extend it to her partner so that he may not pretend that he is asleep.

Dear Lord,

If this twin mum can't produce enough milk for her babies, may you give her the financial ability to buy the ever-expensive formula. May the babies not react to it. May they be full with no reflux. As the finances come, may they be enough for loads of diapers that will be spent in that house. This twin mama's expenses are a bit on the higher side. 

As she raises the twins, give her the brain and means to raise money. Give her the strength to stand and protect her babies and to love each fiercely as the other. May this twin mama never fail at any step of parenting. If she makes a mistake and ends up crying because she feels like a bad twin mum, may you give her the courage to rise up and keep moving.

This twin mama needs more courage, patience, resilience, and, money than she ever thought she'd need. May she find everything to execute the role you gave her of raising, loving, protecting, and disciplining her cubs.
