Packing the Hospital bag for Twins

Waiting for the big day for your twins is a nerve-wracking affair; much so if you are a first-time mum. In most countries, the average viability age of a fetus is 24 weeks so from 24 weeks, one should have their hospital bags packed. Prior to packing your bags, the expectant twin mum should visit the health facility where she is planning to have them and question what they provide for new mums and what they do not. In most developed countries, they provide diapers, mom's pads, and formula for infants. However, in developing countries, the twin mum has to find out what they have. Here is a list of what you should pack depending on the hospital you are having your babies in;

1. The twins' clothes
Pack clothes that are enough for the twins. Most times multiples will require NICU time so the safe number of days the twin mum should be packing for is 6. Just to be on the safer side, 8 sets of clothes.  Something for their head, arms, and legs. Carry with you 6 swaddles with you. If by chance they find another baby in you, you could always request additional swaddles. Some babies react and get fussy from clothes labels, so please make sure to trim them off and make sure there is nothing that could irritate the twins when they wear them.

2. Diapers
If your hospital doesn't offer diapers, please carry with you some. Twins go through diapers like crazy so maybe a 40-pack could do. Don't forget to ask for the smallest size available. Apart from a few super moms who have really big twins, normal mums have tiny little twin babies. [They might actually not be that small, but if you are a first-time mum, those babies are tiny}

3. Breastfeeding-friendly dress
When packing what the babies need, don't forget that they are going to be feeding from your boob. Raising up your top might work, but out there are amazing nursing dresses. Do get yourself 4 or 5.

4. Nursing bra
Most mums will have these already. For first-time mums, however, they will probably forget especially if they have nobody around to remind them. Have 4 or 5.

5. Baby jelly
When changing diapers, you will need something for the twins' bums. Please don't leave it at home

6. Pacifiers
The nurses will probably help you with the twins, but before you learn tandem feeding, you will need the pacifier to keep one quiet. Also helps soothe them to sleep.

7. Your own grooming products.
You have to carry your own lotions, toothbrush, hairbrush, and whatever else you use.

8. C Section friendly undies
In the event your twins aren't delivered vaginally, please carry clothes that are cs friendly. If you find it hard to walk around with just a pad without any undies, shop for nice undies that are cs friendly. I found them very useful in holding my tummy when they got the babies out. Belly binders weren't an option.

Are you a twin mum? What are some of the helpful tips you have for twin mums who are packing their hospital bags?
Also, place it in an obvious location where the hubby can't miss it just in case of emergency. That other gender is partially blind
